In this Newsletter I will regularly share the current state of development with you, inform you in case I need playtesters, smaller ingame tales, sometimes upcoming discounts and plans for future games. So if you’re interested in supporting a young developer or you just like the games you should subscribe!
Who Is Arachnocoder?
I’m a Swiss high school student currently working on three games. The first one is Death’s Web. It’s a game I’ve been working on for a long time, and through it I’ve learned a lot about the development process and how you actually make a game. It didn’t end up becoming very marketable due to my lack of experience at the beginning of my dev journey; however, I still think it’s a very good game if you enjoy the roguelite genre.
My second game — and the one I’m proudest of — is Shuttle Mining. Even though the release isn’t really in sight yet, it’s doing pretty well. This time, people were actually interested in the game, and multiple influencers played it — well, at least they tried to play it. There were some problems due to my insufficient playtesting. I completely forgot to test one part of the game, and that’s why most players currently get stuck in the first two minutes. I’ll fix this problem in the next few days, but it’s still annoying — not just for the players, but also for me. At least I’ve learned once again just how important playtesting is.
My third game is still a secret. It will definitely be a scary game. The first people I’ll inform about it will be those subscribed to the newsletter — so you should subscribe and stay if you’re interested! There’ll also be early access to the demo.
Making games while going to school is pretty tough — but I love it. I often work on games on the weekends, during lunchtime, and sometimes even during class… I think it’ll be a good experience for the future, and the feeling that people are finally interested in the games I make is great. I just have to get even better.
